For this weeks blog post, I wanted to go over the details for my upcoming Styled Shoot in Wilmington – an evening Beachfront Wedding, complete with all of the most precious props and, of course – a Coffee Bar! It’s been so much fun planning this shoot for you all, and I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed putting it all together! 1 MORE MONTH!!

General Inspiration & Goals

For this Styled Shoot, I felt so inspired by the difference in how a beachfront location feels from morning to midday to night. While I am a HUGE sucker for beachfront weddings – I don’t tend to see many of them taking place in the evening. I really wanted to highlight the beauty of it all with the evening decor (candles, lanterns, etc.) and more intimately-sized “wedding party”. I feel like the combination of the decor I have planned along with the smaller group of model subjects will help to really show the feeling of a more relaxed and romantic evening. Photographers, Videographers, Content Creators, etc., will all have 3 hours of creative time in total with unlimited access to our Coffee Bar as well as snacks and a Picnic-Style dinner to help keep everyone fueled and happy throughout the duration of the Styled Shoot.

What to Expect

This Styled Shoot will be held at Carolina Beach/Wilmington on July 7, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm. A pin location will be sent to everyone who has purchased a ticket on the morning/early afternoon of the event. There will be a Model Wedding Couple – along with 2 Model Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. For setup, there will be a small tablescape (due to restrictions of certain decor on the beach itself) and a small picnic setup with the Coffee Bar nearby. Props/Details will be included and range anywhere from the Bride and Groom’s own shoes/accessories/florals to Flatlay/Invitation Details for practice with those kinds of shots as well.

For the day before/morning of the shoot, my Husband and I will be renting an AirBnb nearby the shoot location. That morning, all of the models and hair/makeup Vendors will be welcomed in so they have a good space to get ready in without any issues. We will have plenty of snacks, drinks, and breakfast ready for everyone coming so they’re fueled for the day. At around 2:00pm, we will be leaving to set up the space and prepare for everyone else to arrive. After that, it’s game time!

For this shoot, there won’t be any rotations for attending creators. However, you’re more than welcome to agree between yourselves and each other to separate the groom/bridesmaids/groomsmen into whatever groups you’d like to. All I ask is that everyone remain respectful of others and to be mindful of the time you spend with each model/set of models so everyone has enough chances to get the shots they came to get 🙂

Important Notices

For all attendees – please feel free to bring any and all camera equipment you may need (including your flash!), but please refrain from bringing any large pieces of equipment or anything that could get lost on the beach. I would hate for a beach official to decide we’re the ones to pick on and have to ask someone to leave (or even just the awkwardness of it all, gross. No one wants that). I also would hate to see anyone’s equipment get lost in the sand or come to close to whatever kinds of “sticky hands” that hang around the area. In short – please just be mindful of what you bring with you, and try to keep it to a minimum so you don’t have so much to keep track of!

Please keep in mind that due to strict rules that the city of Wilmington has on it’s beaches (that are held at their discretion and can change at anytime due to other factors such as events/issues/weather within the area) that the specific location of the shoot is subject to change – either to another area on the same beach, or to another location entirely. If this happens, please be assured that a back-up plan is in place. If for any reason the spot on the beach itself is/becomes not available – the shoot will be changed to an oceanfront airbnb/hotel location to ensure the same quality of shoot can be held within a similar setting. I do not foresee this being the case, but want to be transparent about those factors – especially in the case of inclement weather.

One last important notice; Going forward, all Ruhe Liebe Styled Shoot tickets will be expected to be paid in full at least 48 hours before the event and are non-refundable except for special circumstances. Reminders will be sent to each attendee to help keep everyone on track as well.

What I Learned from my Last Styled Shoot

As I mentioned at the start of Ruhe Liebe.Concepts – I wanted this whole experience to flow as organically as possible. That means a lot of trial and error – and no short-cuts when it comes to learning what works best for me, my events, and the people who attend them (vendors and creatives alike). With my last Styled Shoot, there were a ton of changes that happened from the beginning of planning to the actual day of the event. While so many of them were out of my control, I still didn’t like how unorganized it made the whole process feel. Also, having to go back and create multiple new posts for the event was extremely confusing for not just me – but also the people who paid to attend and were keeping up with all of the changes as well.

Moving forward, I’ve decided to only share the factors of these shoots that I know will not change regardless of who is providing the service. For example, instead of listing out the specific models or vendors in the announcement posts I make – I’ll be shifting to just describing what to expect and then letting the more specific lists go to the attendees by email/direct message so they can tag the proper people in their posts. Of course, this doesn’t mean that emergencies will never happen and that plans will never change. We are all human, and I’ll never expect anyone to operate outside of their means or miss important life events for a Styled Shoot of mine. My hope is that this will help (if nothing else) things feel more seamless and less confusing due to changes in specific plans/vendors.

Closing Thoughts & Notes

I’m so excited to host my second Styled Shoot for you all, and am even more excited to see everyone and everything come together the day of! I can’t wait to see how these events evolve as I gain more experience and am capable of investing more into elaborate decor and setup plans. It’s truly been such a joy getting to put these together for you, and I can’t wait to see you all there!

For Vendors – an email will be going out within the next day or two to go over any and all pertinent details for the shoot. Please keep an eye out for that email and let me know if you have any questions for me in the meantime!!

For Guests/Attendees – tickets are available now (get them here!), so don’t forget to snag your spot before someone else does! A few days before the event (once your remaining balance is paid), you’ll receive a Guest Safety and Allergy Questionnaire, as well as an email including the location pin and Vendor List for your reference and to use in your posts from the event so everyone can receive their proper credit.
